2. Yes, it's completely possible. The 1.9 SDI and the 1.9 TDI family of engines all use the same engine block, therefore it's possible to bolt the TDI engine in on the SDI engine mounts. It isn't all plain sailing though and indeed it's worth pointing out that the 1.9 TDI is not a single engine. There are numerous variants of both PD and non-PD
If I go with the CR TDi I would hope to shoot for 250hp again of course unless the motor can't handle that without issues but I have more confidence in that motor at that power than the 1.9 BRM. D Veteran Member
was the 300hp the ET estimate or the trap speed estimate? edit: also, 3300lbs is heavy for a MK4.. taking out the rear seats and spare tire will get you under 3000lbs with a 170lb driver, 1/3 tank of fuel and average weight wheels.. There have been a few mk4 ALH cars that have gotten trap
